Destination Provence was founded in 1984 as an agent organising independent self-catering holiday accommodation in the beautiful and then undiscovered area of the Côte Provençal between Marseille and Toulon in the south of France.

Our self-catering programme of mainly privately owned accommodation has gradually expanded inland emcompassing Avignon and historic Roman Provence and the dramatic hills, sleepy villages and vineyards of the Lubéron and Vaucluse and also the beautiful hinterland behind the Riviera - the "arrière pays" and eastwards to the Côte d'Azur.

Our successful hotel programme has now been expanded - hotels in some of the most beautiful areas of Provence. The hotels are located in an area stretching from St Rémy-de-Provence at the foot of the Alpilles hills close to the Camargue to the perfect villages of the Var département a short drive inland from the Côte d'Azur and along coast of the Côte Provençal and the Riviera to Menton and the Italian border..

The hotels range from two star through to four star category and cater for a range of different interests. What they all have in common is a friendly welcome, excellent service and cuisine of the highest standard. In addition all the featured hotels have private swimming pools.

We remain a specialist company offering a personal service based on our extensive knowledge of the area.

This is extended to our travel service, where we can advise and assist with your travel requirements. If taking your own car, we can book cross channel travel on your behalf, en-route hotels and also motorail.

The Eurostar service either direct to Avignon in summer season or from Waterloo or Ashford linking with TGV high speed trains in Lille or Paris means that Provence is now within easy reach by train and is well worth considering as a relaxing alternative means of travel.

Provence is also well served both by scheduled and budget airlines. For those travelling by train or airplane we can also arrange very competitive car hire.
